French Salad Mix Organic Seed

3g Organic French Salad Mix Seeds [approx]

Common Name: French Salad Mix

Latin Name: Cichorium endivia, Lactuca sativa, Eruca sativa

Description: Bring a taste of France to your garden with this vibrant French Salad Mix, a carefully selected blend of classic leaves for delicious, varied harvests.

This mix includes Endive Scarole with its crisp, slightly bitter bite; the soft, buttery texture of Lettuce May Queen; the fresh crunch of Lettuce Green Salad Bowl; the frilled red leaves of Lettuce Lollo Rossa and Red Salad Bowl; the colourful, cold-hardy Lettuce Marvel of Four Seasons; and the peppery kick of Rocket.

Together they create a beautiful medley of colours, flavours, and textures, perfect for cutting fresh for the salad bowl all season long.

3 grams per pack. Approx 1000 to 3000 seeds.

Sowing: March to September

Harvesting: May to November

How To Grow French Salad Mix From Seed: Sow the seeds thinly in shallow drills, and cover lightly with soil. Keep the area moist throughout germination. Sowing this mix in pots is also possible. Germination should take 7 to 14 days depending on the temperature.

The baby leaves of the plants can be picked and eaten in as little as 4 weeks during Summer months. Harvest all of the leaves when they are at the baby leaf stage if this is your preference, or thin them to allow some of the plants to grow bigger.

When the plants are established, cut and use the outside leaves of the plants first to promote regrowth.

Pick regularly to encourage new growth and enjoy fresh, colourful leaves from spring right through to autumn.
